I don't often post a public reply containing rituals or meditations because of the inherent dangers, but I feel Chakra work is quite safe and also essential.
The question related directly to the third eye and heart. It is important to keep everything in balance, and it the third eye opens unexpectedly it can be extremely problematic as can sudden Kundalini awakening. So here follows part of one of our Friday sessions on CHAKRA BALANCING.
According to Hinduism and Buddhism, a chakra means an energy point or node in the physical body. There are many chakras in the body through which the life force, Chi, or vital energy moves. These vast pools of energy govern the psychological qualities of a person.
Among the many chakras are seven main chakras. Four in the upper body that control the mental properties and three in the lower body that control the instinctual properties.
These chakras are arranged vertically along the axial channel.
Muladhara (Root Chakra) colour red
Svadhishthana (Sacral Chakra) colour orange
Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra) colour yellow
Anahata (Heart Chakra) colour green
Vishuddha (Throat Chakra) colour blue
Ajna (Third-Eye Chakra) colour indigo
Sahasrara (Crown Chakra) colour violet
The chakras are connected to a certain colour as well as with some part of our consciousness.
A proper balance of all the chakras is important, as it contributes to a person’s well being.
If the chakras are not balanced, peace with oneself cannot be achieved.
Many times, some of the chakras are not open all the way, this is when you need to open the chakras.
There are many ways to open and close our chakras, and what people don’t realise that sound is as important, if not more so than visualisation when working with energies. Sound is a form of energy, and a vibration, and as all matter and energy has a unique vibration then it is logical that sound will resonate better with other vibrations and energies.
Your chakras are very responsive to your thoughts and intentions. So just by enacting your will alone, you can open and close down your chakras. But if you’re like most people, having a method can make things easier.
I am not going to go through the various sounds and postures used in the Eastern sonic methods here as it is impossible to describe a sound. So here are a couple of simple and easy ways to open and close your chakras.
Beginning with the root chakra imagine a red ball of energy spinning in a clockwise direction around an imaginary pole going through your body from head to toe. Make the red ball of energy strong, clear, and powerful. Sometimes people let their chakras pulsate with energy, sometimes chakras look like spinning galaxies, and sometimes they are cylindrical instead of in the shape of a ball. All you’re really doing is activating the energy centre. It will feel like you’re imagining it at first, but don’t let that stop you. In time you’ll feel, see, or even hear a tonal sound when you spin your chakras.
Repeat the process with your second chakra (orange) and all the way up to your crown chakra (white or violet).
Another method is to visualise your chakras as flowers. You can see them as seven flowers forming a column from the base of your spine to the top of your head. You can even choose the corresponding chakra colour for each flower. For example, you could choose a red rose for your root chakra, an orange tiger lily for the sacral charka and so on. To open the chakras, simply visualise the petals opening.
When you want to close your chakras, see the petals of the flowers coming together and closing
You can use whichever you feel most comfortable with, or attracted to, it doesn’t really matter, but usually just the exercise of opening and closing will sort out any problems you may have.
If you’re just going about your day, imagine your chakras are the size of a ball, roughly 4 to 5 inches in diameter.
Keep them inside your body, don’t let the light shine out of your body because your energy will touch the people with whom you come into contact.
If contact is your goal or if you’re doing psychic reading work, increase the power and size of your chakras so that they are 12 inches in diameter and spinning outside your body. IMPORTANT Do not do this if you’re going out to work or the pub, or anywhere there are other people, you’ll end up picking up on other people’s negativity and bringing it home with you.
When you’ve finished your energy work, simply imagine your chakras contracting to the 4-5 inch diameter size, which is where they should be most of the time. You can have them sit and pulsate instead of spin with power. Just use the spinning to clear them and activate them.
One of the most important things to know about meditation, ironically, is that the chakras should be consciously closed at the end.
Few people appear to understand this.
The chakras naturally open during meditation or when people open up emotionally or spiritually, like in an intimate conversation. But they do not need to be open afterwards! They should be closed and we have to do this consciously. When we go out into the world, we unconsciously sense that it isn’t that safe and naturally close a bit, but not enough. Closing the chakras keeps one self-contained and safe. Negative people and spirits can see our light and draw on our energy and influence us negatively.
Usually any grounding exercise, just as basic as sitting having a drink and a biscuit will close your chakras to a ‘normal’ size, but sometimes it is necessary to consciously close your chakras for protection.
